Trevor Zegras scored two goals and Troy Terry had an assist to extend his points streak to an NHL-leading 14 games as the Anaheim Ducks pushed their winning streak to seven games with a 5-1 victory Sunday over the visiting Vancouver Canucks.
Sonny Milano, Adam Henrique and Sam Steel added goals for the Ducks, while Zegras also had an assist, as Anaheim has built its longest winning streak in a season since the team won 11 straight in the 2015-16 campaign.
Anaheim captain Ryan Getzlaf had two assists to give him 999 career points, while Jakob Silfverberg added an assist in his return from a 10-day quarantine while in NHL COVID-19 protocol.
Nils Hoglander had a goal for the Canucks, who have lost twice to the Ducks during their current four-game losing streak. Four of Hoglander's five goals on the season have come in the past three games.
The Canucks went on top at 7:29 of the opening period on Hoglander's goal before Zegras tied it at 12:35 on the power play. Zegras' one-timer came from the top of the right circle.
Zegras delivered again at 2:13 of the second period, also on the power play for his fourth goal of the season. His tally from just outside the goal crease came after Getzlaf fired the puck in toward goal. Terry also had an assist on the goal to give him a point in all but the opening game of the season.
Milano made it 3-1 Ducks at 8:55 of the second period when he delivered after a spinning backhand cross-ice pass from Zegras for his third goal of the season. Henrique and Steel each added a goal in the final minute, with Ryan Getzlaf getting an assist on Henrique's score.
The offensive-minded Ducks have at least three goals in 11 consecutive games, going 7-1-3 in that stretch.
The Canucks finished a three-game trip without a victory and will return home Wednesday to face the Colorado Avalanche, who beat them 7-1 on Thursday.
