GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Arizona left wing Mikkel Boedker certainly wishes the season series against Ottawa was not over. The Senators cannot get away fast enough.

Boedker scored his second hat trick against Ottawa this season in the Coyotes' 4-3 victory at Gila River Arena on Saturday, becoming the third player since 2011-12 to get two hat tricks against the same team in one year.

"If I could, I would," Boedker said when asked to explain it. "Getting a lot of opportunities and finding the puck in the right areas. For whatever reason, it seemed to find the back of the net. It feels good, definitely, but I shouldn't get too used to that."

Boedker has six of his nine goals this season against the Senators after getting three goals in the Coyotes' 4-1 victory in Ottawa on Oct. 23. He has six goals in 35 minutes and 26 seconds of ice time against the Senators this season.

Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin (against Tampa Bay) and Anaheim's Corey Perry (against Columbus) were the last to record two hat tricks against the same team, doing it in 2011-12.

Boedker scored in the first minute in each of the first two periods and put in a rebound with 6:31 remaining for a 4-2 lead as the Coyotes (13-9-1) won their third in a row in the third home game in four nights.

"He's developed into a real good player," Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said. "Now, the consistency is there. We rely on him in so many parts of our game right now. When he capitalizes, it enhances his value. Right now, he's an important player for us."

Right winger Mark Stone scored with 5:15 left to close the gap to 4-3 when his shot hit Coyotes goaltender Anders Lindback on a shoulder and bounced high behind him and into the net.

Lindback, who had 35 saves, was in the net in the previous victory in Ottawa, one of his three wins this season. Coyotes (13-9-1), now have won three in a row.

Left winger Mike Hoffman scored two goals, giving him 10 for the season, as Ottawa (12-6-5) had a seven-game point streak broken. The Senators had won four in a row and five of seven.

"I thought we played pretty good," Hoffman said. "We had scoring chances and maybe deserved to get at least something out of it."

Center Dustin Jeffrey had his first goal of the season in his fourth game with the Coyotes, beating Senators goaltender Craig Anderson on a breakaway four minutes into the second period for a 3-1 lead.

Anderson had 15 saves as the Senators outshot the Coyotes 38-19.

"I thought we made it easy for them to score tonight, not taking anything away from Arizona," Ottawa coach Dave Cameron said. "They capitalized. I'm not saying they weren't deserving, but it was too easy."

Boedker scored 38 seconds into the game before Hoffman tied the score when he banged in a one-timer after a centering pass from right winger Bobby Ryan from behind the net. It was 1-1 at 7:28.

Boedker poked in the rebound of his own short shot 41 seconds into the second period for a 2-1 lead.

Hoffman's second goal, on a power play at 17:57 of the second period, made it 3-2. Tippett challenged the call, saying Alex Chiasson committed interference by elbowing Lindback on the play, but the goal stood.

NOTES: Coyotes RW Shane Doan (lower body) missed his third straight game. Doan is tied for third on the team with six goals. ... Coyotes G Anders Lindback made his sixth start of the season in place of Mike Smith, who had started twice in the previous three nights. Lindback posted his first Coyotes victory in the first meeting between the teams, a 3-1 victory in Ottawa on Oct. 24. ... Ottawa beat Dallas and Colorado by a combined 12-7 in the first two games of a three-game trip that ended Saturday in Arizona. Ottawa had been in Phoenix since Thanksgiving after playing in Colorado on Wednesday. ... Coyotes D Zbynek Michalek was scratched because of an illness.
