Flames 5, Coyotes 2: Rookie Josh Jooris recorded his first career hat trick and Karri Ramo made 27 saves to win his fifth straight start as host Calgary matched a season high with its third consecutive victory.
David Jones and Sean Monahan also tallied for the Flames, who have won seven of their last nine contests - with three victories in that stretch coming at Arizona's expense. Jiri Hudler notched two assists to extend his point streak to five games while rookie Johnny Gaudreau, Curtis Glencross and defenseman Dennis Wideman also set up a pair of goals apiece.
Blue-liner Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored for the second straight contest and Sam Gagner also tallied for the Coyotes, who have dropped seven in a row in Calgary (0-6-1). Mike Smith turned aside 19 shots to fall to 5-12-2 on the season.
Jooris netted his second goal at 7:13 of the middle period, accepting Gaudreau's feed from the corner and unleashing a shot that caromed off Smith and into the net to give the Flames a 3-2 lead. Monahan provided insurance 8:46 into the third with a wrist shot from the inner edge of the right faceoff circle before Jooris capped his milestone night with an empty-net, power-play tally with 46 seconds remaining.
Jones buried a shot from the slot 72 seconds into the contest to open the scoring before Ekman-Larsson's wrist shot from the point beat Ramo at 8:25 of the first period for a power-play goal. Jooris converted from the doorstep following a brilliant backhanded saucer pass from defenseman Kris Russell over 10 minutes later, but Gagner forged a 2-2 tie at 2:02 of the second by burying a rebound from the lower edge of the left circle.
