BRUINS 4, BLUES 2
: Brad Marchand scored twice and All-Star Tim Thomas turned aside 29 shots as Boston handed St. Louis its first regulation home loss since Dec. 3.

Milan Lucic netted his team-leading 21st tally and Chris Kelly matched his career high with his 15th goal of the season for Bruins, who overcame their recent scoring woes by striking three times in the first period.

Boston had been shut out four times this month - including Sunday's 2-0 blanking at the hands of the Minnesota Wild.

After Chris Stewart and Ryan Reaves scored nearly five minutes apart in the first period to tie the game at 2-2, Kelly put Boston back in front with 40 seconds remaining in the session. He accepted a centering feed from Lucic on the doorstep and beat All-Star Brian Elliott.

Marchand then matched his career high with his 21st tally by converting a breakaway midway through the third period. The Nova Scotia native's previous mark for goals came last season.

Elliott finished with 15 saves for the Blues, who entered the contest having collected points in 21 straight contests (18-0-3) at Scottrade Center.

GAME NOTEBOOK
: The Blues suffered their first home loss since the Central Division rival Chicago Blackhawks posted a 5-2 win over 2 1/2 months ago. All told, St. Louis is 26-4-4 at home this season. Thomas posted his first career win over the Blues (1-1-2).
