Clemson closed out the regular season with an easy 87-64 home victory against Notre Dame on Saturday.
The win locked Clemson into a double-bye as the No. 3 seed in the ACC tournament, which starts next week in Greensboro, N.C.
Clemson (22-9, 14-6 ACC) led wire-to-wire against a Notre Dame team that had travel issues getting to South Carolina.
The slow start was fitting for the Fighting Irish (11-20, 3-17), who were originally supposed to fly to Clemson on Friday, but had their flight delayed and eventually canceled because of storms in the midwest. Notre Dame flew in Saturday morning and jet lag was a fitting description of their first-half start.
Clemson scored back-to-back 3-pointers to open the game and led 22-5 before Notre Dame made its second shot from the field with 12:03 remaining in the first half.
Clemson led by as much as 24 in the first half and had a 48-29 edge at halftime. The Tigers then cruised in the second half on a night where they were hot from beyond the arc, knocking down 13 of 29 3-pointers.
Hunter Tyson and Ian Schieffelin each had 16 points for Clemson, while PJ Hall (15 points), Chase Hunter (14), and Brevin Galloway (13) all had double-figures.
Clemson emptied the bench in the final minutes and former student manager Jack Nauseef knocked down a free throw for his first collegiate point, leading to an eruption from the Clemson crowd.
Cormac Ryan led Notre Dame with 19 points.
It was the final regular-season game for Notre Dame coach Mike Brey, who is stepping away from the Fighting Irish after 23 seasons. Brey heads into the ACC tournament with a career record of 483-279 at Notre Dame.
Notre Dame will be the No. 14 seed in the ACC tournament and will play Virginia Tech on Tuesday.
