Stanford 65, Lafayette 59: Chasson Randle scored a team-high 16 points and the Cardinal withstood a valiant second-half comeback by the visiting Leopards.

Rosco Allen scored 11 points and Dwight Powell had nine points and 11 rebounds for Stanford (9-4), which led by seven with 1:14 left before the Leopards scored five quick points to cut the lead to 61-59 with 27 seconds to play. The Cardinal answered with four straight free throws to end the game.

Lafayette (5-10) remained winless in eight road games despite 17 points from Joey Ptasinski, who shot 5-of-6 from 3-point range. Seth Hinrichs added 16 points, including four 3-pointers.

The Cardinal led 32-24 at halftime before Lafayette tied the game at 43 on Ptasinski’s 3-pointer with 10:26 to play. Stanford outrebounded the Leopards 42-24, but Lafayette used its perimeter shooting to keep Stanford from pulling away.

The Leopards shot 11-of-19 (57.9 percent) from 3-point range, while the Cardinal made only three of their 19 shots (15.8 percent) from beyond the arc. Stanford’s Josh Huestis scored eight points and matched his career high with 14 rebounds.
