Celtics 100, Pacers 87: Tyler Zeller and Kelly Olynyk scored 19 points apiece as Boston downed Indiana to snap a three-game home skid.
Evan Turner added 13 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds for his third triple-double in the last month for the Celtics, who remain one-half game behind the Brooklyn Nets in the race for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East. Jae Crowder scored 13 points and Avery Bradley had 11 for Boston, which handed out 29 assists on 39 made field goals.
George Hill recorded 21 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Pacers, who have dropped nine of their last 11 to fall two games behind Boston. Rodney Stuckey tallied 16 points off the bench and C.J. Miles had 12 despite a sore right ankle for Indiana, which was held below 100 points for the first time in seven games.
Zeller and Turner scored on consecutive trips to put the Celtics in front 59-41 but Hill tallied nine points in the third quarter to pull the Pacers within 68-62. Olynyk muscled his way inside to put Boston ahead 81-71 and he drained a 3-pointer to push the margin to 94-78 as the Celtics won for the third time in their last four games.
Zeller scored 11 points to help Boston jump out to a 22-16 lead after the first quarter and Olynyk finished at the rim to stretch the lead to 11. Miles connected from beyond the arc to pull the Pacers within 41-37 before Brandon Bass converted a three-point play as part of a 9-2 spurt to put the Celtics on top 50-39 at intermission.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Celtics went 16-of-18 from the free-throw line while the Pacers finished 13-of-23. … Olynyk and Zeller shot a combined 15-of-19 from the floor. … Indiana went 6-of-15 from 3-point range and is 28-of-55 in its last three games.
