Rockets 130, Nuggets 125 (OT): Chandler Parsons scored eight of his 15 points in overtime after Houston rallied from a 13-point deficit in the final four minutes of regulation against visiting Denver.

James Harden led the way with 32 points and 10 assists for the Rockets, who remain two games ahead of the fifth-place Portland Trail Blazers. Omer Asik contributed a season-best 18 points and matched his career high of 23 rebounds and rookie Isaiah Canaan scored a season-high 15 points off the bench on 4-for-7 shooting from 3-point range for Houston, which played its fifth straight game without starters Dwight Howard (ankle) and Patrick Beverley (knee).

Evan Fournier scored 26 points off the bench on 6-for-10 shooting from 3-point range and Aaron Brooks contributed 24 points, 15 assists and eight rebounds to pace the Nuggets. Quincy Miller added a career-high 19 points and blocked four shots for Denver, which has lost six straight road games.

Fournier drilled a 3-pointer with 3:18 left in overtime to give the Nuggets their last lead at 122-121, but the Rockets responded with three straight 3-pointers, the last two by Parsons, to surge ahead by eight with just under two minutes on the clock. Fournier sank another 3 with 38 seconds remaining to trim the deficit to 130-125 but Denver never got the ball back as Houston secured two offensive rebounds on the other end and then won a jump ball with 10 seconds left.

The Nuggets led by 13 with four minutes left in regulation — having stormed back from a 17-point halftime deficit — but couldn’t finish off the Rockets as Randy Foye missed the second of two free throws with 10 seconds left, leaving the door open for Harden to tie the score with a 3-pointer with seven seconds remaining. Foye then missed an 11-footer at the buzzer and the Rockets headed to overtime for the fifth time this season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Rockets scored 57 points in a 15-minute stretch of the first half and the 47-point second quarter set a franchise record. … Brooks broke into the league with Houston six years ago and played 43 games for the Rockets this season before he was traded to Denver on Feb. 20. … Asik collected 17 rebounds in the first half.
