Pelicans 105, Nuggets 89: Tyreke Evans collected 19 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds as New Orleans jumped out early and coasted past visiting Denver.

Jrue Holiday added 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting and dished out eight assists while Anthony Davis tallied 17 points, seven boards and four blocked shots for the Pelicans, who picked up their second straight win after a four-game slide. Ryan Anderson chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds for New Orleans.

Wilson Chandler had 22 points and nine boards and J.J. Hickson added 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Nuggets. Ty Lawson collected 14 points and 12 assists as Denver suffered its fifth straight loss.

The Pelicans scored the final six points of the first quarter to take a 34-25 lead and held the Nuggets without a field goal for more than four minutes to begin the second. Anderson’s 3-pointer with 4:48 left in the first half pushed the lead to 49-31, and New Orleans went into the break with a 13-point cushion.

Denver got back within 70-64 in the third before Holiday connected on back-to-back possessions to spark an 11-0 burst. It was a 15-point lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter and the Nuggets cut it to 93-87 with 2:55 left before the Pelicans scored on their last six possessions to put it away.
