Jazz 106, Timberwolves 84: Gordon Hayward scored 17 points, Enes Kanter added 15 and Paul Millsap tallied 14 on 7-of-8 shooting as host Utah snapped a three-game skid.
Al Jefferson and Jamaal Tinsley added 12 points apiece for the Jazz, who broke a three-game home losing streak and won for only the third time in the last 10 games.
Kevin Love had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Alexey Shved also scored 13 for Minnesota, which shot just 34.5 percent from the field and was without point guard Ricky Rubio (back) for the second consecutive contest.
Utah led 53-45 at halftime and took control of the contest by scoring the first 11 points of the second half. Minnesota missed its first eight shots and was down by 19 before Love scored the Timberwolves’ first second-half points on a three-point play with 7:11 left in the third quarter.
Minnesota trailed 84-71 with 8 1/2 minutes left in the contest before Utah went on a 14-4 surge to boost the lead to 23 with 3:06 remaining.
GAME NOTEBOOK: F Marvin Williams had 11 points after missing Utah’s previous game with a knee injury. … The Timberwolves were just 2-of-17 from 3-point range. … The Jazz tied a season high with 12 blocked shots, including four by Jefferson and three by F Derrick Favors.
