PISTONS 110, BOBCATS 107 OT: Tayshaun Prince had 24 points, including two clinching free throws with five seconds left, as Detroit needed overtime to hand visiting Charlotte its seventh consecutive loss.

The Bobcats, out of the playoff chase, fell to 3-23 on the road.

Greg Monroe made two free throws and Will Bynum one as the Pistons took a 108-104 lead in overtime.

Charlotte’s Reggie Williams made a 3-pointer with 10 seconds left to get to 108-107 but Prince made two free throws with five seconds left for a 110-107 lead. Byron Mullens and Williams missed 3-pointers as Detroit escaped.

Jonas Jerebko had 18 points, Bynum 17 and Monroe 16 points and nine rebounds for Detroit.

Mullens led the Bobcats with 20 points and nine rebounds.

Williams scored 17 and started for leading scorer Corey Maggette, who is expected to miss about a week with a strained right Achilles.

D.J. Augustin had 16 points and 10 assists and Gerald Henderson had 13 points.

In regulation, the Bobcats went up 95-91 before Brandon Knight made it 95-94 with a 3-pointer with 49 seconds left. Williams made two free throws but Bynum sent the game to overtime with a 3-pointer with 16 seconds left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Detroit guards Rodney Stuckey (sore left hamstring) and Ben Gordon (sore groin) were out of the lineup again. Stuckey missed his second straight game but hopes to return by Thursday. Gordon missed his third consecutive game but expects to play by Tuesday. … Detroit had a 35-33 rebounding edge.
