PACERS 111, 76ERS 94: Danny Granger scored 20 points and George Hill hit some big 3-pointers as host Indiana finally found a victory over a winning team in snapping Philadelphia’s three-game streak.
David West chipped in 18 points and Tyler Hansbrough scored 14 off the bench for the Pacers, who had not beaten a team currently with a winning record since Feb. 3.
The Pacers, who shot a season-high 57 percent from the floor, began to pull away at the end of the third quarter. Dahntey Jones and Hill each hit a 3-pointer during a 7-0 run to close the frame give Indiana an 83-75 edge heading into the fourth.
The 76ers made a brief run in the fourth quarter, pulling to within 95-88 with 6:37 left, but Indiana responded immediately. West’s jumper sparked a 12-0 run over the next 5:17, with Hill burying a pair of 3-pointers in the middle of the burst to punctuate the victory.
The Pacers had not beaten a top Eastern Conference team since Jan. 29.
Philadelphia (25-18) is now two games behind Indiana (25-16) in the loss column but sits ahead in fourth place in the East due to its lead in the Atlantic Division.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Evan Turner led the 76ers with 21 points on 9-of-11 shooting. ... Philadelphia shot 53 percent from the field but only got to the free throw line 10 times, as opposed to Indiana’s 22 trips. ... Indiana will face the sub-.500 New York Knicks in each of its next two games.
