PISTONS 88, LAKERS 85: Rodney Stuckey scored 17 of his 34 points in the fourth quarter and overtime as Detroit won for the second time in three games while denying Los Angeles a fourth straight victory.

Kobe Bryant struggled to 22 points on 8-for-26 shooting but did manage to come through at the end of regulation.

After Stuckey had put the Pistons ahead, 78-76, on a 3-pointer with 9.8 seconds left, the Lakers called a timeout and drew up a play for Bryant to take the last shot. The All-Star rose up from 19 feet out and buried a jumper just in front of the buzzer to send the game into overtime.

Stuckey took over in the extra frame, scoring six points and assisting on Tayshaun Prince’s jumper that gave Detroit the lead for good with 1:22 left.

Bryant missed two opportunities to force a second overtime with a 3-pointer and Metta World Peace could not connect on a desperation heave at the end

The Lakers took the lead on Bryant’s 3-pointer with 3:39 left in regulation but back-to-back baskets by Stuckey swung things back in the Pistons’ favor. World Peace made a layup in front of Stuckey’s late 3-pointer.

Andrew Bynum collected 30 points and 14 boards and Pau Gasol added 20 and 10 for the Lakers.
