Chris Bosh scored 24 points to lead the Heat to huge 129-90 win over the Bobcats at AmericanAirlines Arena on Sunday.
Miami is off to its first 5-0 start in franchise history.
LeBron James, who scored only one point in the opening quarter, finished with 16 points one night after getting engaged to his longtime girlfriend. Dwyane Wade added 22 points and six assists in the win.
Charlotte opened the first quarter shooting an ice-cold 17 percent from the field, while the Heat lit up the scoreboard for a 33-15 lead. That blossomed into a 26-point lead in the second quarter, with Bosh doing damage in the paint. He scored 20 of his 24 points the first half, adding 10 total rebounds to his stat line.
Wade and James put the Heat up by 35 points early into the third quarter, turning the game into a two-man show. Wade hit a streaking James on a full-length outlet pass for the layup, just one of the many times Miami’s transition beat Charlotte down the floor.
The Bobcats were paced by forward D.J. White’s 21 points. Leading scorer D.J. Augustin scored only four points on just 1 for 11 from the field. Rookie Kemba Walker added 17 points off the bench.
Charlotte has lost the last seven meetings with the Heat.
Mario Chalmers scored 11 of his 16 points in the first quarter and was one of eleven Heat players to score. Miami’s 129 points was the most scored by an NBA team this season.
