Chris Paul scored 16 points and the visiting New Orleans Hornets routed the shorthanded Atlanta Hawks 100-59 on Friday.
David West and Marco Belinelli added 15 points apiece as New Orleans (28-16) won its seventh straight game.
Atlanta (28-16) was without the injured Al Horford and Marvin Williams, and scored its fewest points since the franchise moved to Atlanta in 1968. The Hawks shot just 29.1 percent, scored only 25 second-half points and didn’t score more than 17 points in any quarter.
New Orleans outrebounded Atlanta 55-32 with Horford sidelined due to an ankle injury. Emeka Okafor had a team-high 12 rebounds for the Hornets, who led 70-45 after three quarters.
Marcus Thornton added 11 points for New Orleans, while Paul had eight assists and three steals in addition to his game-high scoring output. Forward Trevor Ariza missed the contest with an ankle injury.
Jamal Crawford had 14 points and Josh Smith added 13 for Atlanta.
