Rashard Lewis scored 20 points and Vince Carter added 13 as the Orlando Magic pulled away late for their fourth straight win, a 90-79 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday.
Dwight Howard only scored nine points but pulled down 14 rebounds and Mickael Pietrus also scored 13 points off the bench for the Magic, who have won eight of nine.
Orlando trailed, 50-43, after the Pistons opened the third quarter with a quick burst but slowly began to chip away at the deficit, finally reclaiming the lead at 63-61 when Carter nailed a 3-pointer with 1:09 left.
Detroit opened the fourth quarter with an 11-3 run to go up, 72-67. But the Magic responded with an 8-0 spurt of their own, grabbing back the edge for good on J.J. Redick’s 3-pointer with 6:31 to play.
Tayshaun Prince scored 16 points and Rodney Stuckey added 14 for the Pistons, who have dropped two in a row and four of five.
