Stephen Curry scored 16 of his 34 points in the fourth quarter and Monta Ellis added 28 as the Golden State Warriors jumped out early and finished strong in a 109-102 victory over the reeling Toronto Raptors on Monday.
David Lee added 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Warriors, who earned their first road win of the season.
The Raptors jumped out strong with the game's first eight points before the Warriors ripped off a 14-2 run to take the lead for good. Ellis scored eight points in both the first and second quarters and Golden State took a 55-41 lead into the half.
The Warriors pushed it to 69-49 on Curry’s jumper with 7:05 left in the third period when Toronto made a brief surge, getting nine points from Jarrett Jack and six in a row from Leandro Barbosa to make it 75-66 with 2:48 left.
It got as close as 90-86 after a 12-0 spurt by Toronto early in the fourth quarter. The Raptors were still within 107-102 with just over a minute left, but Curry nailled a jumper and stole a pass in the final minute to seal the win.
Jack scored 24 points and Linas Kleiza added 20 for the Raptors, who have lost five in a row.
