Wilson Chandler scored a season-high 31 points to lead the host New York Knicks to a 128-115 victory over the league-leading San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday.
Amar’e Stoudemire and Raymond Felton added 28 points apiece as the Knicks (20-14) snapped San Antonio’s four-game winning streak.
Landry Fields added 13 points for New York, which shot 55 percent from the field and committed just six turnovers. Chandler made 13-of-19 shots, Stoudemire was 11-of-17 and Felton connected on 10-of-17.
Chandler and Stoudemire each grabbed nine rebounds for New York, which led, 72-69, at halftime. The Knicks widened the lead to 101-95 after three quarters and turned back a brief charge by the Spurs in the final period.
With 3:13 left and San Antonio trailing by 11 points, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich emptied his bench. They play at Boston on Wednesday.
Tony Parker scored 26 points to lead the Spurs (29-5), who were trying to become the first team to reach 30 victories this season.
DeJuan Blair had 17 points and eight rebounds for San Antonio. Manu Ginobili scored 15 points, Tim Duncan tallied 14 and Richard Jefferson and George Hill 13 apiece.
