Corbin Burnes and Josh Hader combined for the second no-hitter in franchise history as the Milwaukee Brewers won their fourth straight with a 3-0 victory over the host Cleveland Indians on Saturday.
Burnes (10-4) struck out 14 over eight innings and did not allow a baserunner until Myles Straw walked to lead off the seventh.
Cleveland struck out 16 times and was no-hit for the third time this season, a major league record.
It was also baseball's ninth no-hitter this season, most in big league history after surpassing the eight thrown in 1884.
Hader came on in the ninth and retired the Indians in order for his 31st save. The no-hitter is Milwaukee's first since Juan Nieves accomplished the feat in 1987.
In the closest threat to the no-hitter, Lorenzo Cain preserved the gem with a diving catch in right-center field on Owen Miller's liner with two outs in the eighth.
Burnes fanned five of the first six batters he faced and became the sixth pitcher in franchise history to record 200 strikeouts in a season.
The 26-year-old threw a season-high 115 pitches and is 8-0 with a 2.21 ERA over his last 17 starts. He has not lost since May 25 and has struck out 210 batters in 152 innings this season.
Daniel Vogelbach had two hits for the Brewers (88-55), who sit 33 games over .500 for the first time in franchise history.
Cleveland (69-71) has been held to three hits or fewer in three of its last four games. The Indians snapped a 25-inning scoreless streak on Thursday.
The Brewers jumped on Zach Plesac (10-5) for two runs in the first. Kolten Wong walked to begin the game and scored when Christian Yelich doubled with one out and reached third on an error.
Yelich then scored on Omar Narvaez's sacrifice fly to right.
Milwaukee capitalized on another Cleveland error in the second, when right fielder Bradley Zimmer bobbled Vogelbach's one-out single to right, allowing him to move to second base.
Rowdy Tellez followed with an RBI double to right-center before leaving the game at the end of the inning with right knee discomfort.
Plesac allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits over six innings. He walked two and struck out three.
