A.J. Pollock had the first three-double game of his career, and rookie Will Smith homered twice for the first time, helping the Los Angeles Dodgers rout the host Miami Marlins 15-1 on Tuesday night.

Dodgers slugger Cody Bellinger hit his 39th homer of the season, tying him with Christian Yelich of the Milwaukee Brewers and Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels for the major league lead. It was one of six homers hit by the Dodgers on Tuesday.

The Dodgers also got two-run homers from Corey Seager and Justin Turner, and Dustin May (1-1) earned his first major league win.

May, 21, making just his third major league appearance, lasted 5 2/3 innings, allowing three hits, one walk and one run. He struck out five.

Dodgers rookie left fielder Matt Beaty was another standout, driving in four runs with a homer and a triple.

Pollock, who went 3-for-3 with two runs, entered the game with just six doubles this season. Smith, who went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, had just seven homers entering Tuesday, but he has now gone deep three times in his past two games.

Rookie Jordan Yamamoto (4-4) took the loss, allowing four hits, two walks and four runs in five innings. He struck out two. After allowing six earned runs in his first six major league starts, he has allowed 23 earned runs in his past five outings.

Los Angeles opened the scoring in the second. Pollock pulled a leadoff double to left-center, advanced to third on Seager's groundout and scored when Yamamoto bounced a wild pitch.

The Dodgers added three runs in the fourth. Pollock doubled again to left-center and scored when Seager pulled an 0-2 curve over the fence in right. Smith then homered, too, pulling a 3-2 slider to left.

Miami scored in the bottom of the fourth to cut its deficit to 4-1. Jon Berti walked and scored when Brian Anderson lined a double off the wall in left. Anderson's hit was clocked at 108 mph.

Smith's two-run blast gave Los Angeles a 6-1 lead in the sixth, and the Dodgers put the game away with four runs in the seventh. Max Muncy hit an RBI double, and Turner belted a two-run homer and Bellinger added a solo shot.

The game was such a rout in the ninth that the Marlins used backup catcher Bryan Holaday as a pitcher. He retired Russell Martin on a 63 mph floater, getting him to ground out to shortstop.

Martin, who entered the game as a third baseman in the seventh inning, pitched a scoreless bottom of the ninth.
