Blue Jays 9, Rangers 6: Melky Cabrera had three hits - including a tiebreaking home run in the seventh inning - and three RBIs as Toronto took two of three at home from Texas.

Dioner Navarro also went deep while Jose Reyes drove in a pair for the Blue Jays, who notched their eighth victory in their last 10 meetings against the Rangers. Todd Redmond (1-4) tossed a scoreless seventh for his fifth career win – and first in relief – while Aaron Loup took over for a struggling Casey Janssen to get the final out in the ninth for his fourth save as Toronto secured its first three-game series win since June 23-25.

Rookie Dan Robertson tallied two hits for the third straight contest and finished with a career-high four RBIs while Leonys Martin went 3-for-4 and scored twice for Texas, which has dropped 10 of 11 and 24 of its last 28. Neftali Feliz (0-1) gave up Cabrera’s first homer in 25 games in the seventh after the Rangers scored three times in the sixth to tie it at 5-5.

Navarro led off the bottom of the second by belting a 2-2 changeup from Texas starter Nick Tepesch over the fence in right-center and Reyes – the last of four straight Blue Jays to reach with one out – increased Toronto’s edge later in the frame when he singled to right to push across two more runs. Robertson made it 3-2 in the top of the third, scoring Martin and Adam Rosales with a looping single to right.

Colby Rasmus widened the gap again with an RBI single in the bottom half of the inning and Dan Johnson’s sacrifice fly in the fifth restored the Blue Jays’ three-run margin, but Texas evened it one inning later when Toronto starter Mark Buehrle balked with the bases loaded and Robertson followed moments later with another two-run single. Cabrera jumped all over a 1-1 changeup from Feliz for his 12th homer of the season and capped a three-run frame in the eighth with a two-run single.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Buehrle is unbeaten in his last five turns against the Rangers, but winless in his last eight starts overall – his longest such streak since 2009. … Texas 3B Adrian Beltre entered Sunday in a three-way tie for the American League lead in batting average (.335), but went 0-for-5. … Janssen was charged with one run on three hits in two-thirds of an inning in his first appearance since coming down with an illness during a vacation to the Dominican Republic over the All-Star break.
