Brewers 9, Dodgers 3: Gerardo Parra singled in two runs to cap a four-run rally in the seventh inning and Rickie Weeks hit a three-run homer as Milwaukee stormed back to take the opener from visiting Los Angeles.

The Dodgers grabbed a 3-2 lead with a pair of runs in the seventh but struggled defensively in the bottom of the frame, allowing the tying run to cross on a bunt before two straight errors by shortstop Justin Turner helped push the go-ahead run across. Parra’s single to center field with the bases loaded completed the rally and Weeks slammed his home run in the eighth to put it away.

Jeremy Jeffress (1-1) picked up the win in relief for the Brewers, who are 1 1/2 games in front of Pittsburgh for first place in the National League Central. Adrian Gonzalez went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs while Brandon League (2-3) suffered the loss as Los Angeles’ lead over San Francisco in the NL West remained at 3 1/2 games.

Roberto Hernandez made his first start for the Dodgers after being acquired from Philadelphia on Thursday and retired the first two batters in the first before the Brewers struck for three straight hits, pushing the first run across on Aramis Ramirez’s single before Scooter Gennett lifted a sacrifice fly. Los Angeles finally got on the board with Gonzalez’s leadoff home run in the sixth.

Milwaukee starter Kyle Lohse surrendered a leadoff single in the seventh and was lifted in favor of left-hander Zach Duke, who unleashed a wild pitch and walked a batter before Gonzalez’s single brought in the tying run. Andre Ethier followed as a pinch hitter and reached on an infield single, plating Yasiel Puig to give the Dodgers their first lead at 3-2.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez was removed in the first inning with tightness in his right side and is day-to-day. ...
