Mets 4, Braves 3: Pinch hitter Josh Satin doubled home the go-ahead run as visiting New York won the fifth and final game of a long series in Atlanta.
Satin’s seventh-inning hit off Atlanta starter Mike Minor (8-3) fell just inside the right-field line. David Wright hit two solo homers for the Mets.
LaTroy Hawkins (2-0) earned the win with two innings of relief, Bobby Parnell earned his 11th save and New York starter Jonathon Niese gave up three runs on eight hits in 3 1/3 innings before leaving with left shoulder discomfort. Minor gave up four runs on nine hits and Atlanta could not hold an early 3-1 advantage despite having 13 hits.
Omar Quintanilla led off the seventh with a double, and Satin followed with the go-ahead hit to knock Minor out of the game. Wright finished 3-for-4 with the 20th multi-homer game of his career.
Wright homered in the first, but the Braves rallied on Justin Upton’s first-inning RBI single, and runs in the third on singles by Chris Johnson and Gerald Laird. Wright connected again in the fourth to pull the Mets within 3-2, and pinch-hitter Andrew Brown hit a solo homer in the fifth to even the score.
