Luke French was solid over seven innings and Adam Moore drove in the winning run as Seattle Mariners rallied for a 2-1 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Sunday.

French (3-4) allowed one run on three hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Closer David Aardsma earned his 25th save as the Mariners avoided a three-game sweep.

Jose Lopez and Casey Kotchman singled to start the seventh and advanced on a wild pitch by Carl Pavano. Franklin Gutierrez singled home Lopez and Kotchman scored the go-ahead run on Moore's RBI groundout.

Pavano (15-10) had limited the Mariners to two hits through six innings and retired 14 in a row during one stretch. Pavano allowed five hits in seven innings with two strikeouts and one walk while suffering his third straight defeat.

Minnesota's Michael Cuddyer hit his 12th home run in seventh.

The Twins (75-56) stayed 4 1/2 games ahead of the Chicago White Sox for the AL Central lead.
