ST. LOUIS -- Right winger Dmitrij Jaskin scored on a power play late in the second period and goaltender Jake Allen stopped 21 of 22 shots to lead the St. Louis Blues to a 2-1 win Thursday night over the Chicago Blackhawks.

The win coupled with the Nashville Predators 4-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild means the Blues clinched the Central Division title for the second time in the last four years. It also moved St. Louis into a tie for first place in the Western Conference with idle Anaheim. Each team has 107 points with one game to play.

Both the Blues and Blackhawks already had secured spots in the playoffs coming into the game and were playing for positioning. The loss kept the Blackhawks in third place, behind Nashville.

Jaskin scored his first goal in 17 games, dating back to March 1, at 17:10 of the second period, 49 seconds after Chicago defenseman David Rundblad was assessed a double minor for high-sticking Blues center Jori Lehtera. Defenseman Alex Pietrangelo took the initial shot and center David Backes tipped the puck in front of the net, and Jaskin was able to gather in the rebound and slip the puck past goalie Corey Crawford.

The goal ended a team scoring drought of 121:58 for the Blues, who were shut out 1-0 by Minnesota on Tuesday night as they lost their fourth game in a five-game span at home.

Allen, making his third consecutive start, recorded his second win in a week over the Blackhawks. He made a season-high 38 saves as the Blues also beat the Blackhawks 2-1 Sunday in Chicago.

The Blues increased the lead to 2-0 when center Paul Stastny scored off a pass from left winger Jaden Schwartz on a 2-on-1 break with 5:55 left in the game.

Chicago was finally able to get a shot past Allen with 2:39 left in the game when center Andrew Shaw scored off a rebound of a shot by center Teuvo Teravainen.

It was the third consecutive game the Blackhawks were limited to one goal.

Part of the problem has come on the power-play, where the Blackhawks were 0-for-2. They have now failed to score on their last 11 power plays over a span of five games.

Killing off both penalties for the Blues made them a perfect 16-of-16 in those situations over their last six games.
