Canucks 4, Oilers 0: Daniel Sedin and Dale Weise scored power-play goals and Roberto Luongo posted his third shutout of the season as host Vancouver extended its winning streak to six games.
Zack Kassian and Chris Higgins also tallied while defenseman Jason Garrison collected three assists for the Canucks, who have allowed a total of three goals in winning the first four contests of their five-game homestand. Luongo made 19 saves en route to his 65th career shutout, drawing him within one of Patrick Roy for 14th place on the all-time list.
Devan Dubnyk turned aside 36 shots for the Oilers, who began a four-game road trip after going 2-2-1 on their five-game homestand.
After a scoreless first period, Vancouver cashed in during a 4-on-3 power play in the second to take the lead. Sedin unleashed a slap shot from above the left faceoff circle that deflected off Edmonton defenseman Nick Schultz's skate and in at 8:41.
Kassian doubled the advantage at 2:26 of the third, deflecting David Booth's shot from the top of the right circle past Dubnyk. Higgins made it 3-0 less than four minutes later as he fired the puck between the netminder's pads after receiving a nifty no-look backhand pass by Ryan Kesler from the bottom of the left circle. Weise capped the scoring in the final minute.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Captain Henrik Sedin committed all three of Vancouver's infractions, raising his penalty-minute total to 30 on the season. ... The Canucks scored more than three goals for just the second time in their last 10 games (7-2-1). ... Edmonton has been outscored 10-2 in two losses at Vancouver this campaign.
