Stars 2, Canucks 1: Kari Lehtonen made 42 saves in his 12th consecutive start as Dallas extended its road winning streak to six games.
Rookie Valeri Nichushkin and Erik Cole scored for the Stars, who improved to 8-2-2 in their last 12 overall contests. Lehtonen, who has started every game since returning from a lower-body injury, did the bulk of his work in the second period as he turned aside all 20 shots he faced in the session.
Captain Henrik Sedin netted the lone goal for the Canucks, who fell to 0-1-1 on their six-game homestand. Roberto Luongo finished with 21 saves as Vancouver's winless streak reached four contests (0-3-1).
Dallas opened the scoring at 9:33 of the first period. Tyler Seguin received the puck behind the net and dished a backhand pass to Nichushkin, who knocked it past Luongo at the right post for his second goal.
Cole made it 2-0 just 1:42 into the third, beating Luongo from the right faceoff circle after accepting a cross-slot pass from Cody Eakin during a 2-on-1 rush. Sedin buried a rebound at 3:06 after Ryan Kesler's stuff attempt during a power play was denied by Lehtonen, but Vancouver was unable to get the equalizer.
