DUCKS 5, SHARKS 3: Corey Perry snapped a tie early in the second period and Bobby Ryan recorded a goal and two assists as visiting Anaheim topped San Jose to continue its dominance in the season series between the Pacific Division rivals.

Kyle Palmieri scored a goal and set up another, defensemen Francois Beauchemin and Nate Guenin also tallied and Nick Bonino notched three assists for the Ducks, who snapped their five-game road losing streak with their fourth win in five meetings with the Sharks this season.

Jeff Deslauriers made 27 saves for Anaheim in his first start since Jan. 10. Jonas Hiller received the night off after starting a franchise-record 32 consecutive games.

Ryane Clowe registered a goal and two assists, Martin Havlat notched a tally and an assist and Joe Pavelski also scored for the Sharks, who remained one point behind Colorado for eighth place in the Western Conference and Dallas for the top spot in the Pacific.

The Ducks took a 3-2 lead only 56 seconds into the middle session. Antti Niemi denied captain Ryan Getzlaf's breakaway attempt, but Perry poked in a loose puck in the crease for his 35th tally. Guenin doubled the advantage midway through the period, beating Niemi with a blast from the blue line for his second career goal.

Joe Pavelski deflected defenseman Brent Burns' wrist shot from the right point past Deslauriers with 2 1/2 minutes left to get the Sharks within one. The goal was Pavelski's career-high 26th of the season.

Anaheim restored its two-goal advantage 33 seconds later as Palmieri scored for the third time in four contests. Palmieri's slap shot from the right faceoff circle was blocked, but he regained possession at the bottom of the circle and fired the puck past Thomas Greiss, who had replaced Niemi shortly after Guenin's tally.

San Jose opened the scoring during a power play less than 6 1/2 minutes into the game. Burns made a pass from above the slot to Martin Havlat, who glided across the top of the crease and slipped in a backhander during a power play for his third goal in two contests.

The lead lasted only 51 seconds as Ryan fired a loose puck in the slot into a vacant net for his 27th tally.

Ryane Clowe put the Sharks back in front just over two minutes later when he beat Deslauriers from the slot for his third goal in 23 games. But Beauchemin took a pass from behind the net by Bonino and scored from the doorstep during a man advantage with 2:08 remaining in the first period to forge a 2-2 tie.

Niemi allowed four goals on 26 shots while Greiss stopped 13 shots for the Sharks, who have scored three goals or less in each of their last 17 contests.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Clowe's goal was only his 13th of the campaign. He scored a career-high 24 last season. ... Perry has tallied four times in his last six contests. ... Niemi was pulled for the fourth time this season. ... San Jose failed to earn at least one point for only the second time in eight games (3-2-3). ... The Sharks have lost 11 of their last 14 against the West and 13 of 18 overall. ... San Jose went 2-1-0 on its three-game homestand.
