Stephen Weiss scored his second goal of the game 43 seconds into overtime, lifting the Florida Panthers to a 4-3 home triumph over the slumping Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday.
David Booth notched a tally and an assist while Tomas Vokoun made 22 saves for the Panthers, who halted a three-game home losing streak.
Weiss, who tied the contest at 2-2 late in the second period, put a wrist shot past Craig Anderson early in the extra session to complete his second multi-goal performance of the campaign and help Florida improve to 4-10-1 all-time against Colorado on home ice.
Bill Thomas gave Florida the lead just 3:08 into the first period with his first goal of the season. Colorado moved ahead on second-period tallies by defenseman John-Michael Liles at 3:42 and Ryan O'Reilly with 2:21 remaining.
The advantage lasted just 76 seconds, however, as Weiss beat Anderson with a wrist shot for his sixth of the campaign, knotting the game at 2-2.
Matt Duchene put the Avalanche back in front at 1:59 of the third, but Booth answered less than 2 1/2 minutes later to forge another tie.
Anderson stopped 21 shots for Colorado, which has lost five in a row on the road and four straight overall.
