Rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson ran for one touchdown and passed for another as he improved to 2-0 as a starter in the host Baltimore Ravens' 34-17 victory against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.

Jackson, a first-round draft choice from Louisville, started for the second consecutive week because of a hip injury to Joe Flacco and helped the Ravens (6-5) strengthen their playoff hopes. He led them to a 24-21 victory against Cincinnati a week earlier, which ended a three-game losing streak.

Jackson completed 14 of 25 passes for 178 yards with two interceptions and rushed for 71 yards on 11 carries. Fellow rookie Gus Edwards had his second consecutive 100-yard game, finishing with 118 yards on 23 rushes as starting running back Alex Collins was sidelined by a foot injury.

Baltimore made Jackson's job easier with a defensive touchdown and a special-teams touchdown.

Derek Carr completed 16 of 34 passes for 194 yards and a touchdown for the Raiders (2-9), who finished with just 249 total yards, including 67 rushing.

The Ravens extended their 13-10 halftime lead when Jackson ran 5 yards for a third-quarter touchdown.

Carr threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Jared Cook to pull Oakland within 20-17 entering the third quarter, but the Raiders didn't score again.

Jackson threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Michael Crabtree, and Terrell Suggs returned a fumble 43 yards for a touchdown to give the Ravens a 34-17 lead with 5:55 left.

On the game's opening possession, Oakland scored on Doug Martin's 1-yard touchdown run. The ball came loose, the Ravens recovered and the play originally was ruled a touchback, but the call was reversed and ruled a touchdown on replay.

Justin Tucker kicked a 47-yard field goal to get the Ravens within 7-3 in the first quarter.

Cyrus Jones returned a punt 70 yards for a second-quarter touchdown, and Tucker added a 28-yard field goal that gave Baltimore a 13-7 lead.

Daniel Carlson made a 42-yard field goal to pull Oakland within 13-10 at halftime.
