ATLANTA -- Julio Teheran continues to be unbeatable at Turner Field.
The right-hander allowed one unearned run in seven innings in the Atlanta Braves' 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday night at Turner Field.
Teheran (6-4) is 19-8 at home in the last three seasons and 5-0 this year.
"It's one of those things you can't explain," Atlanta manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "Maybe we'll just fly him up on the day of his start the next time ... let him sleep in his own bed. It makes you scratch your head. The only thing you can say is it's baseball."
Teheran, who is 1-4 with a 7.40 ERA on the road, wobbled at times, allowing seven hits and three walks with four strikeouts. Teheran escaped from a bases-loaded situation in the second inning and was helped by two Philadelphia base-running mistakes that ended threats.
In another big step, Teheran was able to retire third baseman Maikel Franco for the final out of the seventh with runners on first and second. He has had trouble all season closing the door when the opposition threatens late.
"I had enough confidence in him to let him get that last out," Gonzalez said. "It was a big one."
The winning run came on a homer by third baseman Juan Uribe, his seventh of the season, to lead off the seventh against rookie Adam Morgan. Uribe hit the first offering just beyond the 380-foot sign in left field.
Uribe has been on a power surge. Four of his home runs have come in the last six games, during which time he is batting .364 (8-for-22). Since coming over in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Uribe has five doubles and six home runs.
"Uribe is really swinging the bat," Gonzalez said.
Atlanta's Luis Avilan pitched a scoreless eighth. Jim Johnson allowed two singles in the ninth but was aided by a double play and picked up his fifth save of the year. Johnson got the nod in the save situation because the Braves did not want to use regular closer Jason Grilli on three consecutive days.
Morgan pitched a career-high seven innings and allowed two runs, five hits and two walks with five strikeouts. The left-hander, who grew up in suburban Atlanta, also scored the Phillies' only run.
Philadelphia manager Pete Mackanin was pleased with the effort of Morgan, who has allowed three runs in 12 1/3 innings in his first two career starts.
"He's got no fear," Mackanin said. "I know it's just two starts, but he's looking like a guy who's been around and knows how to pitch."
Morgan said he would learn from the outing.
The Braves scored the first run in the second inning. Left fielder Jonny Gomes hit the first pitch he saw from Morgan deep into the left field bleachers for his fifth homer of the year.
"I'm trying to simplify things and not overanalyze things," Morgan said. "You want to keep the ball down. I struggled with that early, but as the game went on, I felt I got the ball down. It wasn't apparent on those home runs, but you live and learn."
The Phillies tied the score 1-1 in the fifth. Morgan reached on an error when his swinging bunt got past Teheran and second baseman Jace Peterson tried to flip the ball with his glove to first base, only to have it go over the head of Chris Johnson.
Morgan moved to second on a sacrifice by center fielder Odubel Herrera and scored when second baseman Cesar Hernandez singled to right field.
The single extended Herrera's hitting streak to seven games.
But on the same play, Hernandez was caught between first and second base and tagged out when the relay came to the infield. Franco came up and doubled with the bases empty and was stranded there when first baseman Ryan Howard grounded out to end the inning.
NOTES: The Braves made two more trades to obtain international pool bonus money. They acquired slot No. 87 from the Los Angeles Dodgers for RHP Caleb Dirks and OF Jordan Paroubek and slots No. 73 and 103 from Tampa Bay for RHP Garrett Fulenchek. None of the players have competed above Double-A. ... The Phillies said 2B Chase Utley will not return from an ankle injury until after the All-Star Game and that RHP Jerome Williams (left hamstring) might make a rehab start next week for Triple-A Reading. Williams has been on the DL since May 17. ... Saturday's second game of the three-game series matches Atlanta LHP Alex Wood (5-5, 3.17 ERA) against Philadelphia's Kevin Correia (0-2, 3.60).
