Twins 6, Blue Jays 0: Brian Dozier homered and finished with a career-high four RBIs while Mike Pelfrey tossed six solid innings as visiting Minnesota snapped a six-game losing streak.

Joe Mauer and Jamey Carroll each drove home a run in support of Pelfrey (4-6), who turned in his finest performance in 15 starts with the Twins. The right-hander allowed three hits – all singles – and walked three before exiting after 97 pitches.

R.A. Dickey (8-9) saw his three-game winning streak snapped after giving up six runs and seven hits over seven innings. Maicer Izturis collected three of Toronto’s four hits as the club fell to 4-9 following its franchise record-tying 11 straight wins last month.

After cruising through the first two frames, Dickey ran into trouble as he allowed runners on the corners with none out. Dozier plated Aaron Hicks with his one-out grounder to second, Carroll ended an 11-pitch at-bat with a hard-hit double down the left-field line to score another and Mauer capped the three-run frame with an RBI single to center.

Minnesota doubled its lead in the seventh when Chris Parmelee opened the inning with a ground-rule double and Hicks drew a walk. Dickey retired Eduardo Escobar, but surrendered his 19th home run when Dozier smacked an inside fastball into the left-field stands.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Dozier is 12-for-33 with eight RBIs over his last nine games. … After leading the majors with 27 quality starts (out of 33) during his National League Cy Young Award-winning campaign in 2012, Dickey has recorded only 10 in his 19 outings this season. … The Twins, who had scored only 23 runs over their previous nine games at Rogers Centre, won for only the second time in their last 10 games in Toronto. ...
