Brandon Hagel notched the go-ahead goal for the second straight game against Ottawa, and the Tampa Bay Lightning swept their two-game home series against the Senators with a 5-1 win on Thursday.
Hagel tallied for a 2-1 lead in the second period before the Lightning scored three times in the third to earn four points in the rare two-game home series against the same opponent.
Brayden Point had a goal and two assists, while Jake Guentzel, Mitchell Chaffee and Erik Cernak also scored for Tampa Bay. Nikita Kucherov posted two assists.
Lighting goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy, who won both game in the series, registered 27 saves on Thursday.
The Lightning played without Anthony Cirelli, who was announced as day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
Ottawa's Michael Amadio scored for the third game in his past four games. With an assist, Tim Stutzle stretched his point streak to seven games (two goals, eight helpers). Senators goalie Anton Forsberg had 26 saves.
The Senators did not dress third-line center Shane Pinto, who was injured in their 4-3 loss on Tuesday.
Playing a third game in four nights, Ottawa did not generate a shot on its first power play, but Tampa Bay's top man-advantage unit put the hosts up 1-0 at 9:23 after Ridly Greig high-sticked Point.
Guentzel found a rebound and notched his 27th tally, second on the squad. The marker was the left winger's NHL-leading 13th on the power play and the only tally as Tampa Bay outshot Ottawa 11-7 in the first period.
For the second straight game, Amadio notched a goal, tying the game on a redirection off Stutzle's shot at 5:27 of the second period.
However, Hagel got behind Ottawa defenseman Thomas Chabot, took a long stretch feed from Ryan McDonagh and notched his 24th tally at 10:14 of the middle period.
On the tiebreaking goal, Vasilevskiy recorded his second assist of the season and the 22nd of his career.
In the third, Tampa Bay moved in prime position for the sweep when Kucherov's shot hit Artem Zub and bounced in off Point at 15:44.
