Canucks 2, Bruins 1: Zack Kassian scored the tiebreaking goal early in the third period as visiting Vancouver beat Boston for the second time in its last seven games.
Defenseman Ryan Stanton also tallied while captain Henrik Sedin and twin brother Daniel each notched an assist as the Canucks posted their league-high 19th road victory. Eddie Lack, in his first start since Ryan Miller went down with an injury, turned aside a season-high 40 shots as Vancouver won for the fourth time in five contests.
Daniel Paille scored 65 seconds into the first period, but the Bruins were thwarted the rest of the way en route to their seventh defeat in eight games (1-5-2). Tuukka Rask made 26 saves for Boston, which saw its lead over Florida for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference dwindle to two points.
The Bruins struck quickly as Carl Soderberg's sharp-angle shot popped into the air and was sent back across the crease by Loui Eriksson, leaving Paille free to lift a backhander over a sprawling Lack. Vancouver answered at the 3 1/2-minute mark as Stanton's one-timer from above the left faceoff circle deflected off the stick of Boston defenseman Dennis Seidenberg and past Rask.
Lack withstood a 20-shot onslaught in the middle session to keep it tied before Kassian gave the Canucks their first lead at 6:47 of the third. Rask kicked out a shot by Daniel Sedin to the right-wing boards, and Kassian wound up for a one-timer from the right circle that caromed in off the crossbar.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Henrik Sedin, the league's Second Star of the Week, extended his point streak to five games with his assist on Kassian's tally. ... Paille, who was a healthy scratch for the previous two contests, snapped a 36-game drought with his first goal since Nov. 21. ... Daniel Sedin also ran his point streak to five games and reached 40 assists for the seventh time in his career.
