Coyotes 2, Panthers 1 (OT): Defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored a power-play goal 2:20 into overtime as host Arizona halted its three-game skid.

With the Coyotes on their eighth power play of the game, Ekman-Larsson received a touch pass from Sam Gagner in the left faceoff circle and snapped a wrist shot past Roberto Luongo and into the far corner of the net for the game-winner. Justin Hodgman scored in his NHL debut, blue-liner Keith Yandle notched two assists and Mike Smith made 23 saves for Arizona.

Brandon Pirri scored the lone goal early in the third period for Florida, which completed a 2-0-2 road trip and has points in all five games away from home. Luongo turned aside 39 shots in the loss.

The Coyotes appeared to open the scoring in the second period, when B.J. Crombeen redirected a shot past Luongo, but the call was reversed after video review as it was ruled that Crombeen's stick was above the crossbar. Florida finally snapped the scoreless deadlock at 1:47 of the third as a turnover behind Arizona's net led to Tomas Fleischmann's pass to an unguarded Pirri, who switched to his backhand and easily beat Smith from the slot.

Arizona knotted it eight minutes later during its sixth power-play opportunity. Lauri Korpikoski punched at the rebound of Yandle's shot and the puck squirted to Hodgman, who buried it into an open net from the left side for his first career tally.
