Senior guard Peter Jok scored 17 points and Iowa cruised to an 89-57 victory over Delaware State on Thursday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in its final non-conference game.
Sophomore forward Ahmad Wagner shot 5 for 5 from the floor and finished with 12 points and freshman guard Isaiah Moss tallied 10 points for the Hawkeyes (8-5), who won their fifth straight game.
Iowa shot 56.9 percent from the field and was 8-for-20 from 3-point range.
Sophomore guard Devin Mogan scored 24 points for the Hornets (3-11), who lost to No. 16 Indiana 103-56 on Monday.
The Hawkeyes dominated from the opening tap as they jumped out to a 21-10 lead by making seven of their first 10 shots.
The contest quickly got away from Delaware State. The Hornets missed 17 straight shots during the first half, resulting in a field-goal drought that lasted 11:50.
What was an eight-point deficit for the Hornets became a 43-17 Iowa lead before Morgan drained a 3-pointer.
Delaware was 5 for 33 from the floor in the first half and shot 24.2 percent for the game.
The Hawkeyes open their Big Ten season Wednesday at No. 15 Purdue.
