DePaul 84, Chicago State 60: Tommy Hamilton IV went 7-for-7 from the field en route to a career-high 25 points as the visiting Blue Demons routed their crosstown rivals for their third straight victory.
Myke Henry scored 12 points for DePaul, which is off to its first 5-1 start since 2009-10. Aaron Simpson added 11 points for the Blue Demons, who shot 52.4 percent overall and went 8-of-18 from 3-point range.
Clarke Rosenberg poured in 20 points to lead Chicago State (2-7), which dropped to 0-7 against NCAA Division I teams. Joshua Meier and Montana Byrd scored nine points apiece for the Cougars.
Henry hit a 3-pointer to set off an 11-0 run that he capped with a layup for a 26-11 lead with 8:05 left in the half. The Blue Demons had the lead as large as 20 before settling for a 47-30 halftime advantage.
The Cougars scored the first five points of the second half to trim the margin to 12 but never got closer. Joshua Batson's free thrown with 7:50 left pulled Chicago State within 65-52, but DePaul answered with an 8-0 burst and continued to pull away.
