PACERS 105, MAGIC 87: Danny Granger scored 25 points as host Indiana advanced to the second round for the first time in seven years.
Darren Collison scored 15 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter as the Pacers outscored Orlando 36-16 over the final 12 minutes to win the Eastern Conference series in five games.
Jameer Nelson scored 27 points and hit five 3-pointers for Orlando, which was eliminated in the first round for the second straight year.
Collison hit nine of 10 shots from the field while keying the surge for Indiana, which faces either the Miami Heat or New York Knicks in the second round.
The Pacers trailed by two points with 11 minutes to play before Collison scored seven points during a 9-2 spurt for an 80-75 edge with 8:51 remaining.
Nelson’s driving hoop pulled Orlando within 83-80 with 7:48 to play before Indiana scored eight straight as part of a 13-3 run. Collison’s basket with three minutes left made it 96-83.
A 3-pointer by Granger with 29.3 seconds left boosted Indiana’s lead to 20.
Orlando outscored Indiana 24-19 in the third quarter in a sharp turnaround. The Pacers had a dominant 108-60 edge in the stanza over the first four games.
Nelson had 15 points in the third quarter as the Magic took a 71-69 lead into the final quarter.
George Hill added 15 points, David West tallied 12 and Roy Hibbert scored 11 for Indiana.
Glen Davis scored 15 points and Ryan Anderson added 14 for Orlando.
Indiana led 50-47 at halftime.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Indiana’s previous playoff series victory came when they bested the Boston Celtics in seven games in 2005. … Orlando was 11 of 30 from 3-point range. … Hibbert blocked two shots to raise his series total to 19. … Anderson connected on four 3-pointers and had his best game of the series after averaging just 8.5 points over the first four games.
