Tim Duncan finished with 20 points and 15 rebounds and Tony Parker added 19 points as the San Antonio Spurs kept rolling along with a 118-110 victory over the shorthanded Phoenix Suns on Monday.
Richard Jefferson chipped in 17 points and Gary Neal had 22 off the bench for the Spurs, who stretched their winning streak to nine games.
The Suns held a 54-53 lead at the half but watched it quickly tumble out of control as San Antonio put together a 40-point third quarter. Duncan scored 10 points in the first six minutes of the frame as the Spurs opened with a 25-5 run.
Phoenix battled back to cut it to 96-85 early in the fourth quarter and kept the pressure on throughout the final 12 minutes, pulling to within 105-98 when Steve Nash hit a three-pointer with 5:39 left. But San Antonio was too strong down the stretch, with Duncan making a jumper and blocking two shots during one sequence, and pulled away again.
Jared Dudley was the game’s high scorer with 27 points for the Suns, who were still without newcomers Vince Carter, Marcin Gortat and Mickael Pietrus.
