Kyle Lowry collected 20 points, eight assists and six rebounds as the Houston Rockets dominated the fourth quarter en route to a 96-83 home victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.
Luis Scola and Aaron Brooks chipped in 16 points apiece for the Rockets, who have won two straight and five of seven.
The Clippers led, 73-70, at the beginning of the fourth quarter but went scoreless for the first six minutes of the frame as Houston took control. Chase Budinger, rookie Patrick Patterson and Courtney Lee scored four points apiece as the Rockets’ bench opened the period with a 12-0 burst.
Houston pushed the lead to double digits when Brooks hit a jumper with 3:32 left and Lowry scored on two straight possessions. The Rockets outscored the Clippers, 26-10, in the final 12 minutes.
Randy Foye - starting his second straight game in place of the injured Eric Gordon - scored 20 points and Blake Griffin added 14 and 11 rebounds for the Clippers, who have dropped two straight without their scoring leader.
