David West scored a season-high 25 points and the New Orleans Hornets kept their record unblemished by defeating the host Milwaukee Bucks 87-81 on Saturday.
West was 10-of-12 from the field as the Hornets improved to 6-0 while holding Milwaukee to 39 percent shooting from the field.
Chris Paul and Marco Belinelli had 14 points apiece for New Orleans. Trevor Ariza and Emeka Okafor chipped in with 11 points each.
Milwaukee’s Andrew Bogut had 19 points and 13 rebounds one night after missing a game against Indiana due to migraine headaches.
John Salmons scored 14 points for the Bucks (2-5) and Brandon Jennings added 12 points.
New Orleans shot 44.9 percent from the field, a figure helped greatly by West’s shooting performance. The rest of the Hornets shot just 36.8 percent (21-for-57).
Milwaukee pulled within 67-65 on Jennings’ 3-pointer with just over seven minutes left but couldn’t overtake New Orleans.
