Rookie sensation John Wall returned to the lineup with 25 points and six assists and JaVale McGee had 24 points and 18 rebounds as the host Washington Wizards came from behind to edge the Philadelphia 76ers in overtime, 116-114, on Tuesday.
Andray Blatche added 17 points and 12 rebounds and Nick Young scored 19 points off the bench - including the game-winning 3-pointer - for Washington, which split four games while Wall sat out with a left foot sprain.
Philadelphia held a 90-75 lead with 8:55 left but Washington rallied within 104-103 with 14 seconds to go. Rookie Evan Turner hit two free throws to push the lead to 106-103 but then missed a pair before Jrue Holiday fouled Wall on a 40-foot 3-point attempt. The rookie drained all three free throws to force overtime.
Philadelphia pulled ahead, 114-113, on Thaddeus Young’s tip shot with 14 seconds left in the extra period. But Nick Young nailed a 3-pointer from the right corner with seven seconds remaining, and Andre Iguodala missed a potential tying jumper.
Iguodala collected 23 points and 11 rebounds for the Sixers, who have lost six of seven. Philadelphia also dropped a 116-115 overtime affair at Washington on Nov. 2.
