Phillies 7, Mets 3: Chase Utley and Domonic Brown homered in the first inning as host Philadelphia took an early 5-0 lead en route to winning the three-game series with New York.
Laynce Nix added a two-run shot in the sixth inning for the Phillies, who also hit three home runs in Tuesday's 8-3 victory. Kyle Kendrick (1-1) pitched six innings - interrupted by a 27-minute rain delay after four - and allowed two runs and eight hits while striking out six.
Lucas Duda hit two solo home runs among his three hits, John Buck also went deep and Jordany Valdespin added three hits for the Mets. Jeremy Hefner (0-2) allowed five runs and six hits in three innings.
After Ben Revere led off with a walk and was caught stealing by Buck, Jimmy Rollins doubled over right fielder Mike Baxter's head before Utley crushed Hefner's offering into the hedges in center field. Ryan Howard singled and Michael Young walked to set the stage for Brown's blast into the second deck in right field.
The Mets squandered a scoring chance in the fifth inning when they could not score after putting runners on second and third with one out. Brown made a running catch on Ike Davis' short fly to left-center and doubled off Daniel Murphy at second base before Valdespin crossed home plate.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Buck has five home runs, matching the output of New York's catchers in 2012. ... Hefner allowed seven runs and did not record an out in his only other start against Philadelphia last season. ... The Phillies were 10-for-10 in stolen bases before Revere was caught.
