Madison Bumgarner matched the longest winning streak of his career as the San Francisco Giants cruised to an 8-1 win over the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.
Bumgarner (11-12) won his fourth straight start while giving up one run and striking out eight over five innings. The Giants moved 8 1/2 games back of National League West-leading Arizona with 16 games left.
Jeff Keppinger, Aubrey Huff and Mark DeRosa each drove in two runs for the Giants, who scored in the second inning to break an 18-inning scoreless streak.
Dodgers starter Hiroki Kuroda (11-16) struggled in his second straight start, giving up three runs on eight hits over 4 2/3 innings.
Hong-Chih Kuo, Josh Lindblom and Scott Elbert followed Kuroda and gave up a combined five runs in 1 1/3 innings.
After reaching .500 for the first time since May 2 on Saturday, the Dodgers lost for just the fourth time in their last 19 games.
