Freshman Tim Hardaway Jr. scored a career-high 30 points to lead Michigan to a 75-72 overtime victory at Iowa on Saturday.
Jordan Morgan, who tied the game at 65-65 with 12 seconds left in regulation with two free throws, scored off a feed from Darius Morris with 2:12 to go in the extra period to put the Wolverines (17-11, 7-8 Big Ten) in front for good, 71-69. He then drew a charge on Iowa's Matt Gatens at the other end, and Morris followed with a layup to put Michigan up by four.
The Hawkeyes (10-17, 3-12) had a pair of 3-point shots to tie it in the closing seconds, but Zach McCabe and Bryce Cartwright both came up empty.
Morris finished with 20 points and nine assists for the Wolverines, while Morgan added 18 points. Melsahn Basabe led the way with 19 points for Iowa, which made just 2 of 17 shots from 3-point range.
