Tenth-ranked Purdue roared out to an 11-0 lead and never looked back, cruising to a 75-52 victory over Iowa on Sunday afternoon in West Lafayette, Ind. The win was the 10th in a row for the Boilermakers.
Purdue (15-1, 4-0 Big Ten) held the Hawkeyes without a point for the first 5:23 of the game while building the only cushion it would need. Iowa shot just 36.5 percent (19 of 52) from the field overall and hit just two 3-point baskets in seven tries.
Ryne Smith continued his recent hot streak for Purdue, hitting 6 of his first 7 shots from 3-point range en route to a team-high 18 points. JaJuan Johnson added 16 points and four blocked shots, while Kelsey Barlow and E'Twaun Moore added 11 points apiece.
Matt Gatens led Iowa (7-8, 0-3) with 11 points.
The Boilermakers travel to face Minnesota on Thursday, while Iowa returns home to face Northwestern on Wednesday.
