Ducks 2, Canadiens 1: Matt Beleskey snapped a tie with 11:27 remaining in the third period as visiting Anaheim shaded Montreal.

Defenseman Hampus Lindholm added a first-period goal for the Ducks, who won for the eighth time in nine games while improving to 4-1-0 on their five-game road trip. Frederik Andersen made 23 saves to preserve the win.

David Desharnais netted a power-play tally for the Canadiens, who had their three-game winning streak snapped. Carey Price stopped 21 shots in defeat.

Anaheim held a 7-1 shot advantage through the opening eight minutes and finally broke through a short time later. Captain Ryan Getzlaf won a faceoff in the offensive zone and controlled the puck in the corner before feeding Lindholm, whose blast from the right point beat Price over his right shoulder.

Montreal drew even 5:27 into the third period as Desharnais ripped defenseman Andrei Markov's cross-ice feed past Andersen for his fourth point in three games. Beleskey countered just over three minutes later, swatting Rickard Rakell's pass over Price's blocker from the bottom of the left faceoff circle for his team-high 15th goal of the season.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Canadiens held a lengthy pregame ceremony to honor former captain Saku Koivu, who spent his first 13 NHL seasons in Montreal and the final five in Anaheim. Fans chanted "Saku! Saku!" as Koivu addressed the crowd, and the team put together a six-minute video of well wishes from former teammates and coaches. ... Montreal LW Max Pacioretty left in the third period after taking a hard hit from Anaheim D Clayton Stoner and did not return. ... The teams combined for just eight shots in the third period.
