Canucks 6, Blue Jackets 2: Henrik Sedin scored twice, including one during a three-goal second-period blitz, as host Vancouver snapped a five-game winless drought.
Sedin and defenseman Alexander Edler scored 16 seconds apart and Daniel Sedin emerged from a slump with a goal and two assists. Roberto Luongo needed to make only 14 saves to earn his first victory since Nov. 7.
Vancouver scored only six times during its 0-3-2 skid but pumped in three goals in a span of 2 minutes, 10 seconds to break the game open and avenge a 3-1 loss in Columbus on Oct. 20. Zack Kassian also had a goal and defenseman Ryan Stanton collected three assists to give the Canucks their first win in the fourth contest of a six-game homestand.
Matt Calvert and Artem Anisimov had the goals for the Blue Jackets, who were without their top two scorers in James Wisniewski and Brandon Dubinsky. Sergei Bobrovsky turned aside 29 shots as Columbus fell to 2-2 on a five-game Canadian road trip that winds up Monday in Toronto.
Daniel Sedin scored with only 16 seconds left in the opening period to counter Calvert's goal before Vancouver took command in the middle session. Kassian's shot from the left circle snuck under the arm of Bobrovsky at 12:05 and Henrik Sedin's rebound was kicked in by the goaltender before Edler's blast from the left point clanged in off the left post.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Daniel Sedin notched his first points in seven games for the Canucks, who improved to 12-0-3 when scoring two or more goals ... Wisniewski was out of the lineup with the flu while Dubinsky was sent back to Columbus to have his foot evaluated. ... Jeremy Welsh scored his first career goal for Vancouver with 29 seconds to play.
