DUCKS 3, BLACKHAWKS 1: Teemu Selanne recorded a goal and an assist as Anaheim returned home from a successful 5-1-2 road trip to top struggling Chicago.
Andrew Cogliano and defenseman Sheldon Brookbank also scored while All-Star Jonas Hiller made 18 saves for the Ducks, who improved to 9-1-1 in their last 11 home games. Anaheim trails Dallas by six points for eighth place in the Western Conference.
All-Star Patrick Kane opened the scoring with 8 1/2 minutes remaining in the first period, beating Hiller with a wrist shot from above the right faceoff circle during a power play.
Cogliano knotted the contest with 20 seconds left in the session, jamming the puck between former Duck Ray Emery's pads after kicking it into the crease. Following a review, Cogliano was awarded his first goal in 13 games.
Brookbank put Anaheim ahead 12 1/2 minutes into the second with a wrister from the top of the right circle. It was the defenseman's second goal in five contests after going 166 games without a tally.
Selanne cashed in during a 5-on-3 power play early in the third, sweeping a shot past Emery from the bottom of the left circle. The goal was Selanne's 1,395th career point, moving him past Luc Robitaille for 20th on the all-time list.
Emery stopped 35 shots for the Blackhawks, who have lost three straight games and 12 of 16. Chicago, which has dropped 13 of 15 on the road, fell to 5-20-2 in its last 27 visits to Anaheim.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Cogliano had not scored since recording a hat trick against Phoenix on Jan. 31. ... Kane's goal was just his second in 10 games. It was the 14th tally for the 23-year old, who scored at least 21 in each of his first four NHL seasons. ... Selanne has 246 career power-play goals, one behind Robitaille for a share of fourth on the all-time list. ... Hiller has made 21 consecutive starts since sitting out with a minor injury against Dallas on Jan. 10.
