Jordan Bohannon made seven 3-pointers while scoring 24 points to help No. 3 Iowa post a 93-80 victory over No. 16 North Carolina in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Tuesday night at Iowa City.

CJ Fredrick added 21 points and Joe Wieskamp had 19 points, nine rebounds and five assists for Iowa (4-0). Both players made five 3-pointers for the Hawkeyes, who were 17 of 40 (42.5 percent) from behind the arc.

Iowa All-American Luka Garza recorded 16 points, 14 rebounds and four blocked shots but shot just 6-for-20 as his streak of 19 consecutive 20-point performances ended.

Garrison Brooks had 17 points and eight rebounds and Day'Ron Sharpe had 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting for the Tar Heels (3-2), who lost their second straight game. RJ Davis produced 12 points and eight assists, Caleb Love added 11 points and six assists and Andrew Platek scored 10 points.

Armando Bacot had just four points but collected 11 rebounds for North Carolina, which held a 47-38 edge on the boards. The Tar Heels shot 47.7 percent from the field and were 6 of 15 (40 percent) from 3-point range.

Iowa shot 44.7 percent from the field.

North Carolina trailed 43-31 at halftime before charging out of the second half with a 14-5 surge to pull within three.

A short time later, Love drained a 3-pointer as the Tar Heels moved within 55-54 with 13:22 remaining.

Garza then got untracked and scored Iowa's next 10 points. However, North Carolina wasn't dismayed and again trailed by one when Garza went out for a rest with 10:29 remaining.

Davis made two free throws 37 seconds later to give the Tar Heels their first lead of the game at 66-65.

North Carolina was ahead again at 68-67 before Bohannon buried a 3-pointer to start a 14-0 Iowa run. Keegan Murray had a three-point play during the spurt and Bohannon and Wieskamp ended it with 3-pointers to give the Hawkeyes an 81-68 lead with 6:57 left.

The Tar Heels scored six straight points to get within 83-76 with 5:40 remaining. But Wieskamp answered with a tip-in and Bohannon drained a 3-pointer to thwart the run, and Iowa went on to close it out.
